Mahmudol Hasan Rocky

Mr. Mahmudol Hasan Rocky is working as Research Coordinator and team leader of a field Research group at RMMRU. He is the key person to process and analyze the data by using SPSS software. He is also involved in report writing, budgeting, questionnaire designing, training, monitoring fieldwork, etc. He worked in the research project on “Climate Change Related Migration” “Impact of Labour Migration to the Construction Sector on Poverty” “Cross-border Movement of the Rohingyas Burma” “Migrating out of Poverty” “Impact of Migration on Poverty and Local Development” “International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development” “Climate Change Adaptation in Urban Areas of Bangladesh” “DEltas, vulnerability, and Climate Change: Migration and Adaptation (DECCMA)” “Impact of Migration on Growth, Poverty, and Gender (Panel Survey)” “Social cost of migration on left behind family members” “Safe and sustainable cities: human security, migration and well-being” and “Building resilience to violent extremism among Bangladeshi migrant workers”. He is currently involved in the ongoing research project on “Migration, Transformation, and Sustainability” and also on “Social Cost of Migration on Women Returnee Migrants”. He completed BBA from North South University and MBA from East-West University. He is one of the co-authors of recently published books titled “Accommodating Migration in Climate Change Adaptation: A GBM Delta Bangladesh Perspective” and “Impact of Migration on Poverty and Growth in Bangladesh”. He is also one of the co-authors of the recently published book “Deltas in the Anthropocene 2019, Chapter 7 (Where People Live and Move in Deltas)”. He is also one of the co-authors of policy briefs on “Impact of Migration on Household income, Expenditure and Poverty” policy paper no. 24, Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit; “Safe and Sustainable Cities: Migration, Security and Wellbeing” policy paper no. 25, University of Exeter and Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit. He is also one of the co-author of a peer review journal titled “Multidimensional wellbeing of migrants shaped by risks, networks, and aspirations; (submitted) “Environmental, social and economic dimensions of human security of migrant populations in growing cities” (submitted). His research interest includes climate change, migration, and urbanization.
